Introducing The Branch
The South East England branch of the Nautical Institute is a voluntary organisation of maritime professionals, who work or have an interest in the South East England area.
Located in Kent, our region borders from the River Thames and North Sea, to the Dover Straits and English channel. France is just 34km (21 miles) away. Inland our members span the home counties of East Sussex, Surrey, Kent and the SE London area.
The unique location of the South East between London and mainland Europe has made the area a major maritime hub, and with members from right across the industry, the SE branch of the Nautical Institute has a wide and varied membership of both seagoing and shore-based members.
We hold regular meetings to promote professional knowledge of technical subjects, which also creates a powerful professional and social forum.
We encourage anyone with an interest to come along and “see what we’re about” – our meetings are open to members and non-members alike – in fact, anyone with a nautical interest!
